Hello Hawkeye Marching Band Alumni!
Thanks for your interest in accessing your Homecoming music digitally! As you probably know, the Hawkeye Marching Band utilizes the digital music application FlipFolderApp. This is a new app that's gaining lots of traction in the collegiate marching band world! This is our third year of using the app.
You will be happy to know everything is set up, and you can begin accessing your music immediately. Here are the instructions:
- Download FlipFolderApp
- Select “Sign in with Email”
- Enter your preferred email
- Create an account with a password
- Agree to the terms/conditions
- Click the “+ Add a Band” button
- Connect ID: iowaalumniband (all lowercase, all one word)
- Please do not share the Connect ID with anyone outside the Alumni Band
- Select your part
- VERY IMPORTANT: Select “Yes” to pre-download all songs (it will take up very little space on your device)
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled for the app
- Click the ♫ symbol to view all music.

You will still need to provide your own metal lyre (the plastic ones do not work). We will provide the "c clip" that holds your device. This clip connects directly to your metal lyre. Piccolos will utilize "c clips" that are connected to your forearm. Trombones have special "c clips" that are connected midway up the bell. We will have a few of each of these on hand for you to borrow if needed.
Please return all of the "c clips" after the game on Saturday, as these serve as backup equipment for the HMB.
