Biography
Presley Montgomery-Bonner is a licensed social worker and staff therapist, within the University of Iowa’s University Counseling Service, who provides dedicated mental health support and resources to the Hawkeye Marching Band. Throughout the season, she holds 1-on-1 consultation appointments with HMB students, provides education and facilitates connection with mental health resources, and provides support to students in distress.
Presley received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2020. She holds a broad range of experience from Student Care and Assistance in the Dean of Students Office at the University of Iowa, to working within residential mental health for adolescents and with homeless populations. She is passionate about walking alongside people in their journey to becoming the person they want to be.
Presley is a life-long Hawkeye and longtime fan of the Hawkeye Marching Band. As a former flutist in the Prairie “Hawks” Marching Band from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, IA, she holds many fond memories of watching the Hawkeye Marching Band perform at the Metro Marching Band Classic and the University of Iowa’s Band Extravaganza. She currently resides in Cedar Rapids with her husband, HMB Staff Arranger Drew Bonner.
