Andrew Deaver, DMA Candidate in Trombone Performance

Biography
Andrew Deaver is a trombone educator and performer from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He is an alumnus of the South Dakota State University bands, from which he graduated in May 2023. From 2023-2025, Andrew served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Oklahoma State University trombone studio. Andrew helped coordinate studio events and worked with the other 33 studio members. 
Over the years, Andrew has done freelance trombone work in South Dakota, Oklahoma, New York, and the Dallas metro area. His experience ranges from jazz to classical to clinician work. Outside of performing, Andrew is an active conductor and educator, primarily conducting the OSU trombone ensemble and working with his studio of trombonists in Oklahoma. 
Andrew has spent many summers working with marching bands across South Dakota as a low brass and drum major tech. Andrew has also voluntarily worked with Oklahoma State’s athletic bands, executing game day operations and working as the band's security.
Andrew is excited to start a new adventure working with the Hawkeye Bands!
