Jordan Flies

Head Librarian
Biography

Jordan Flies is the Head Librarian of the Hawkeye Marching Band, and a fourth-year student studying Clarinet Performance and Music Education. Jordan has been a member of the Hawkeye Marching Band’s clarinet section for the entirety of her college career. Before becoming a Hawkeye, Jordan attended Geneseo High School under the direction of Mr. Steve Scherer. During this time Jordan served as drum major of The Sound of Geneseo Marching Band and received the John Philip Sousa Award.

Jordan has spent her time at the University of Iowa studying clarinet with Professor Jorge Montilla, and she quickly began to admire all the faculty at the School of Music for their passion and kindness. In addition to her participation in the University of Iowa’s Concert and Athletic Bands, Jordan is also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Women’s Music Fraternity and National Association for Music Educators. When Jordan is not at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Center or Voxman Music Building, she is likely to be found relaxing by playing board games or her Nintendo Switch.
